These are the words of Itay Mor, the chairman of the Zionist movement “Beyond the Rainbow of Portugal” in an article broadcast on Saturday News on Channel 12 about recent developments regarding Portuguese citizenship.

The article tells about the cessation of approvals of the Jewish community in Porto and the things that led to it: the investigation opened against the community, the arrest of Chief Rabbi Daniel Litvak, and the Portuguese citizenship he approved for Roman Abramovich. The article presented difficult arguments from senior figures in Portugal regarding the ease with which Portuguese citizenship is granted. Anna Gomez, a senior member of the Socialist Party, said she does not accept allegations of anti-Semitism and that they appear in such cases to whitewash corruption.
