Adv. Itay Mor, the president of the Zionist movement “Over the Rainbow Portugal” told the Jerusalem Post website,  about the latest developments. The article states that Roman Abramovich, who is close to President Vladimir Putin, has been severely sanctioned because of the conflict in Ukraine, especially in Britain. This is another reason for increasing public pressure in Portugal to investigate the acquisition of Abramovich’s citizenship, which many believe was approved too quickly. The Jewish community of Porto has announced that it is no longer interested in cooperating with the Portuguese government in granting permits to Jews deported from Spain and Portugal and mentions that in 2013-2014 it proposed to the PSD (Social Democratic Party) and CDS (People’s Party) to establish an international committee.
