Many times we have told you about the investment types in a golden visa that allows a temporary residence in Portugal for five years and then Portuguese citizenship and a Portuguese passport which is a passport of the European Union. An article on the Portuguese news site The Portugal News presents data from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) of the past year, according to which there is a decrease in the total investment in the golden visa investment types. One of the reasons for this is the coronavirus that has affected the whole world and also Portugal when in the first months of 2021 it experienced closure as well as sky closure and no entry for citizens from other countries where morbidity is high.

According to the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) statistics, investments raised through golden visas fell by 6.8% in the last year (from November 2020 to November 2021) to 46.6 million euros.
In November, investments in real estate (ARI) amounted to 46,669,413 euros, a decrease of 6.8 percent compared to the corresponding month in 2020 (50 million euros). Compared to October (46.4 million euros), the investment raised remained almost the same (+0.4 Percent).
According to Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) in November, 83 gold visas were issued, 64 of them in real estate purchase (24 in the renewal and renovation of old properties) and 19 in the investment type of capital funds.
The purchase of a real estate in November 2021 amounted to an investment of 36.9 million euros, of which 8.5 million euros for the renovation and renovation of old properties, while in the investment type in the capital funds the amount stands at 9.7 million euros.
The golden visas were issued in November to investors from the following countries: 20 golden visas for investors from the US, 19 golden visas for investors from China, 10 golden visas for investors from Brazil, 5 golden visas for investors from Turkey, and another 5 for investors from Russia.

In total, for the 11 months of 2021, from January to November, 781 golden visas were granted, with 55 of them in January, 100 in February, 73 in March, 98 in April, 52 in May, 67 in June, 41 in July, 64 in August, 61 in September, 87 In October and November 83.
During this period, total investments amounted to 415 million euros, which is a decrease of about 33 percent compared to 618.9 million euros invested in those 11 months during 2020.
