Restaurants not to be missed in Porto

The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant

The restaurant draws its inspiration from local fresh products; in 2016, it received two Michelin stars. Restaurante Auge Porto

The restaurant is located on the 19th floor of the Porto Palacio, just below the Porto skies and overlooks the spectacular 360-degree cityscape. The chef of the restaurant is Andre Silva who has won several awards in cooking and therefore his unique dishes are endowed with creativity, sophistication and delicately wrapped in the tradition of Portuguese cuisine and served in the strong spirit of international cuisine. The restaurant also offers a wine bar with fine wines from Portugal and other countries.

D’Avenida

The restaurant is located on Boulevard Boavista and is considered one of the most prestigious in northern Portugal. The restaurant’s design is unique in black and gold colors that invite diners to relax. The restaurant offers innovative cuisine with the best music. On weekends, with a DJ on stage, you can listen to Porto’s contemporary music combined with the serving of innovative cocktails.

KUG (Kitchen & Urban Garden)

The restaurant is an excellent pastime in wonderful weather. It is located on the ground floor of the Porto Loft Hotel and features seating in sheds and a green garden. The restaurant menu was developed by the chef of the Casa de Chá da Boa Nova restaurant, Roy Paula, who has two Michelin stars. Among the dishes on the menu, you can find a lobster burger, fish with risotto, octopus combined with eggs and a vegetarian menu. On weekends, the restaurant offers traditional Portuguese meals in various combinations.

Habitat Terra e Fogo

This is a new restaurant that opened about a year ago in one of the most charming areas in Porto by the borders of the Douro River whose name translates as “Habitat – Earth and Fire”. It is spread over two floors and proud of its own oven from which the fire burns, on which the dishes are cooked. The oven uses three types of wood and among the dishes; you can find grilled meats and grilled fish. The restaurant serves tapas, salads and sandwiches as well as dishes with a combination of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.

La garage bistro

The restaurant is located in Santo Tirso, an industrial area about 50 km from Porto and serves dishes from French cuisine combined with Portuguese approach. The menu includes healthy and vegetarian dishes and traditional desserts. Main courses include tuna with vegetables, foie gras, crispy bread with veal, steak with escalope, etc. Among the desserts, you will find a traditional Portuguese dessert of puff pastry apple cake with vanilla ice cream. In the restaurant a selection of Portuguese wines and wines from France, Italy and Spain.

KOB Restaurant

KOB restaurant opened in 2019 and expresses a modern style thanks to the brown and gold design. The restaurant provides a sophisticated and pleasant atmosphere and was founded because of a collaboration between Chef Oliver de Costa, owner of the Guilty By Oliver restaurant group in Lisbon and Porto, and entrepreneur Filipe Herculano, both well versed in the atmosphere and demand of the region. The restaurant is known for its sophisticated steak dishes. The origin, cuts and quality of the meat are key ingredients for sorting the dishes on the menu by country.

Yakuza by Oliver Restaurant

Yakuza is Chef Oliver de Costa’s third restaurant in Porto and is located in the prestigious five-star hotel – Maison Albar Hotels Le Monumental Palace. The restaurant offers an extraordinary experience of Japanese cuisine. In the creative and eclectic menu, you will find sushi and sashimi that were creatively prepared or reinvented with a strong Mediterranean influence, as well as tempura and other dishes prepared on the Japanese robata grill.
